More FREEBIES!

I have literally become addicted to freebies.
There are so many awesome blogs out there for couponing, money-saving, and freebies...
Most of which are listed in my side-bar.
Yesterday my mailbox was filled with...
A FREE sample of Wisk detergent...
My FREE Baby Talk magazine subscription...
My FREE Ready Made magazine subscription...
My FREE Shape magazine subscription.
Honestly,
I have SO many FREE magazine subscriptions now I can't even count them.
I try to read them all.
I scatter them all over the house so I'll pick different ones up at different times depending on where I am and what I'm doing.
They're in my bedroom, the family room, the living room, even the bathroom, LOL!
I don't even know if I could list them all...
I know for sure we get:
Baby Talk
American Baby

Oh my gosh...that's all I can remember off the top of my head...and they're all completely FREE!
I would NEVER pay for another magazine subscription in my life now that I'm aware of all the freebies!
It's awesome!

"I don't have time for this!"...said my rude cashier at Walmart.

So, as Nate and I headed off to Walmart today for cat food (Meijer no longer sells our brand, grr!)...I figured I might as well bring my high value coupons and do a little shopping as well.  I'll tell you all about my savings in a moment...but first I have to share about my extremely RUDE cashier!
Whenever I use a lot of coupons, I make sure I am very patient and very polite with my cashier.  I engage in chit-chat and want him/her to know I'm friendly, not trying to scam, patient, and doing my best to make their job easier.
So Nate and I proceed to the check-out...and after she scans all the coupons...she THROWS them in a pile (instead of placing them where they go) and she shouts "I don't have time for this!".  Well how rude it that?!?!
I turned and said, "Have a great day!  Thank-you!"
But I do plan to use their online survey about my visit today and see what happens!
I mean seriously...don't yell at me because I'm trying to save my family money!  You of all people (making minimum wage) should understand just how hard it is in this economy to make a decent living and pay the bills!  So don't yell at me for using my coupons!  Sheesh!
So anyway...enough of the bad...
On to the good...
I got some GREAT deals...
Good Life cat food...$4.48...used a $2.00 coupon...paid $2.48 (got 3 bags for that price).
Satin Care shave gel...$1.97...used a $1.00 coupon...paid 97 cents (got 3 cans for that price).
Friskies cat treats...$1.42...used a $1.00 coupon...paid 42 cents (got 2 bags for that price).
Shick disposable razors...$5.47...used a $3.00 coupon...paid $2.47.
Cinnabon cereal...$2.00...used a $1.00 coupon...paid $1.00.
Ready Rice...$1.78...used a $1.00 coupon...paid 78 cents.
Ready Rice...$1.78...used a 75 cent coupon...paid $1.03.
Danonino yogurt...$2.00...used a $1.00 coupon...paid $1.00.
Danimals Crush Cups yogurt...$2.00...used a $1.00 coupon...paid $1.00.
Ronzoni pasta...$1.50...used a $1.00 coupon...paid 50 cents.
Ronzoni pasta...$1.50...used a 75 cent coupon...paid 75 cents.

My tally...
Before coupons...$42.07
After coupons...$20.93

I saved more than I spent...maybe that's what upset her???  LOL!!!

Incredible savings this week!

So...
I had some INCREDIBLE savings this week at Meijer and Walgreens.
I did almost every match-up from Mommy Snacks money-saving blog this week.
If you've never used the sale ad/coupon match-up on any of the money-saving blogs...I highly recommend it. Most of the blogs located on my sidebar list them...but Mommy Snacks is my all time favorite. The following is the link for this week. I got loads of the deals she posted this week.
http://mommysnacks.net/2010/06/meijer-deals-sale-ad-june-20/
My final tally this week was:
Spent: $44.00
Saved: $74.00
That is AMAZING!

Walgreens had some awesome deals as well!

I used the sale ad/coupon match-up from Mommy Snacks as well for this one and got some amazing deals. I also had some leftover Register Rewards from last week that I used as well. One of the best deals I found was on Wal-Zyr (Zyrtec generic). It is normally priced right around $9.99 for a bottle. They had them DOUBLE PACKAGED (two packs) for $9.99!!! That's half price!

My final tally at Walgreens was:

Spent: $9.05
Saved: $58.80

Now that's some savings!

AWESOME savings this week!

I think I may have just had my BEST ever couponing and Register Reward shopping trip to date!!!
The other day I went in and did two separate transactions. I do this from time to time if I want to use my Register Rewards immediately on all my Walgreens coupon/sale items and get the savings instantly.
My first transaction wasn't too bad...there were some good deals with Register Rewards to be had on several.
My first tally was:
Spent: $15.81
Saved: $11.55
Ok...that's not "bad"...but it's not one of my best trips. BUT...it yielded A LOT of Register Rewards!
So...
I started my second transaction and came out like a kid in a candy store! I was so excited! The only thing that dampened my spirits was, I normally have such wonderful cashiers at our Walgreens. They are very helpful, kind, and patient. But I got one of my usuals the other day...and I'm trying to believe it was because she didn't feel well. She sounded awful...bad cold. So I'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt...she's normally not that cranky. I think she was just having an off day. But I have to admit, she did make me feel like a pain in the neck because I had two transactions. :(
But anyway...back to the happy part!!!
My final tally was...
DRUMROLL PLEASE!!!
Spent: $1.89
Saved: $41.77
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!
Can you believe that!?!?!
Woooooooooooooooooo Hooooooooooooooooo!!!
Go me!!!

I had a pretty decent trip to Meijer this week too.
I came away with FOUR FREE bags of Kitten Chow which I'm planning to donate to the Harbor Humane Society where we got Oreo from! Woohoo!
My final tally there was:
Spent: $53.47
Saved: $47.77
Not bad...

New spring clothes for the mommy!

I have to start off by saying, I don't buy clothing all throughout the year as many people do. Some women pick things up here and there all year long. I don't do that too much. Occasionally I'll see something on sale and grab it...but not too often. I tend to be one of the people who shops like, twice a year...spring and fall...and then I'm done with it. So some people may think I spend a lot at once...but really, I don't. I'm shopping for an entire season or two.
So...last week, I did my spring shopping. And being the bargain shopper I am...I REFUSE to pay full price for ANYTHING...clothing included. I'm also the kind of person, I find something I like...I'll buy one in every color, LOL! I had actually boycotted Old Navy a couple years ago due to a bad experience I had with a return and the manager there...but I've come around and given them another chance. I'm so glad I have because they have some really cute things and great deals. The only think I dislike, is that their clothing runs small and it makes me feel like a cow when I have to buy a larger size, LOL! So anyway...here were some of my deals:
Old Navy:
Spent: $88.00
Saved: $87.00
I got some incredible deals there. I ended up scoring four new camis, a bomber jacket, three gauze blouses, and two button down blouses!

JCPenney has always been a favorite place of mine to shop for clothing. Here I scored two pair of skinny jeans (scarey, but I'm killing myself to get into them), two pair of capris, a cute white blouse, and a slim fitting tee.
Spent: $80.06
Saved: $116.06

Kohls was another place I kindof "boycotted" for a while due to some seriously bad service. But once again I've come around, and I'm glad. They have some really cute clothes for reasonable prices. There, I got two spring/fall coats.
Spent: $69.96
Saved: $99.00

Like I said...sounds like a lot of money at once...but I only shop a couple times a year. In the end I got over $500.00 worth of clothes for right around $200.00. Can't beat that! Not in my book!

Lazy Lazy Lazy...

I have gotten seriously lazy with my money-saving/coupon postings lately. Well, no...not totally lazy...just been incredibly busy. I think I'm going to continue to share my success...but just not post all the actual deals themself. If you would like to find the actual deals I scout out...check out all the blogs I have listed on the lower right of my blog. They are an amazing help to me as I scout out all the best deals!
Here are some of my recent trips to Meijer:

May 4, 2010

Spent: $54.28

Saved: $42.50

Not too shabby...I almost made my goal of saving as much as I spend. I am finding it harder and harder to meet this goal with groceries. Food is SO expensive!

May 11, 2010

Spent: $35.11

Saved: $32.92

This was a good trip. Nearly met my goal. I didn't buy a lot...but stayed right within the range I like to as far as saving/spending.

I pretty much ALWAYS have good trips to Walgreens. It's hard not to...unless it's not close to free...I don't shop! LOL!

May 2, 2010

Spent: $21.04

Saved: $42.06

LOVE these kinds of savings!

May 9, 2010

Spent: $29.67

Saved: $26.34

This one yielded A LOT of Register Rewards to use on my next trip...so even though it doesn't look like I saved a ton up front...I got LOADS of Register Rewards.

May 11, 2010

Spent: $1.87

Saved: $9.00

NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN' ABOUT! LOL!

Soooo behind on my coupon ramblings...

So yeah...I used to always do so good sharing all my latest bargains and freebies. But lately...I've gotten lazy. I haven't been posting the best of the best items. But I've still be couponing. I've had some "decent" trips to Meijer...but nothing spectacular. I'm really disappointed with their sales and Meijer Meal Box coupons lately. They're really letting me down. But here's at least some of my tallies:

4/08/10

Spent: $19.02

Saved: $30.86

4/13/10

Spent: $72.38 (BAD!!! HORRIBLE TRIP!)

Saved: $46.62 (This trip nearly made my sick to my stomach! YUCK!)

4/19/10

Spent: $59.37

Saved: $31.64

See what I mean? It's kinda been all over the place! I sometimes wonder if they're "on to us couponers"! LOL! There really haven't been that many good match-ups! If I'm not saving at least as much as I spend...I am NOT a happy camper!

Walgreens on the flip side has been pretty consistent with all their bargains.

4/11/10

Spent: $14.92

Saved: $23.05

4/18/10

Spent: $30.65

Saved: $33.14

Not too shabby at Walgreens! Pretty much always save as much or MORE than I spend! Woohoo!

One week on...one week off...(Walgreens Bargains!)

One thing I'm starting to learn with Walgreens...is they seem to follow a certain trend...of...

The next week, it is BARGAIN HEAVEN.

My Cup(boards) Runneth Over...

Ok, ok, ok...I know. I've said it before...I'll say it again. I have GOT to get organized. Since I started "super couponing" and stockpiling...my cupboards, cabinets, laundry room, etc. are all overflowing. And I am so unorganized.
HELP!!! I never noticed before, but it looks like my shelving is "bowing" in the middle, LOL...all that detergent and fabric softener! Do you have tips? Do you have organization ideas? HELP ME!

I saw some neat ideas on another couponing mom's blog. She used laundry baskets to store things in. She just tossed them in and had a label on the front of each. She had baskets of toothbrushes, bandaids, etc. It was really neat!

I may do that...laundry baskets that is. I've also considered Rubbermaid totes. I've GOT to do something. I'm so limited on space. But couponing and stockpiling are the WAY to go! I mean, who cares if you have 35 bottles of body wash! Who cares if you have 40 disposable razors? When you pay under a dollar for everything...you learn to stockpile! You learn to REFUSE to pay full price!

So please dear friends...leave me your ideas.
Send your suggestions.
Write down your tips.
Because...
My Cup(boards) Runneth Over!!!

Here's a new one...

If you live in the southwest Michigan area...
Here's a new money-saving blog that a good friend of mine just referred me to.
I am new to it and still checking it out...but it seems to have alot of local activities, events, sales, coupons, etc. for this area.
Check it out!

http://grandrapidstightwad.blogspot.com/

Coupons, coupons, EVERYWHERE coupons!

If you haven't been doing "the coupon thing" long...
Just a reminder...
Weekly inserts in the newspaper aren't the only place to get your coupons.
And most of us know about all of the online sites to get printables.
But...
If you have a facebook account, there are MANY fan pages of different products out there that are always putting out coupons for their products. These aren't always just "money off", sometimes they are also for FREE sample size or full size portions of the product to drum up interest. Be on the look out for those!
Also, I get loads of free magazine subscriptions from all the money saving blogs I follow...and lately I have been finding TONS of coupons in my magazines! Entire coupon "booklets"! Like today I was just reading my Shape magazine and found an entire booklet that contained coupons for window cleaner, olive oil, feminine hygiene products, tuna, rice, and canned fruit! LOL!
Also, any time you get the chance to sign up with various companies online (food, cleaning products, personal products, etc.)...DO IT! Not only will you get newsletters, recipes, and such...but many times they will e-mail you printable coupons or send you packs of coupons via "snail mail".
There are SO many ways to get extra coupons out there!
If you have any ideas, feel free to post!
Happy couponing!

Twizzlers...On sale for $1.34...Sorry, I had a craving, LOL!

And this didn't include using my Register Rewards...I did NOT use them today. I still have $10.00 in Register Rewards from today to use towards next week's trip!

So technically if I'd have been able to use them today I'd have only spent $8.70!!!
